“Received a parking charge even though we went to reception on arrival and correctly wrote our car registration correctly on a form provided by staff. Wife rang hotel today and person who answered automatically guessed what the issue was suggesting this is a very common issue with this hotel. He took the expedia booking number and apparently got it cancelled. I rang separately to ask why this happened and hotel staff could offer no explanation which is quite worrying, so please be aware when……

“The tv in the room didnt work and they don't do food had to order a takeaway. Nice pub next door. Just need a refurbishment and food putting on. It could be a really nice hotel once the work has been done.”

“Not so clean. Staff ok but one over charged me 3 quids for food, drinks, no reason given. Very noisy housekeeping, they bang doors, chat and play loud music outside your rooms. ”

“Lovely garden views from the Kent building. Signposting lacking - had to check in at one building, and breakfast in the main house, whuch looked loveky, whilst staying in another building. Early check-out at 9.30. But check-in was no earlier than 3pm. Room stifling hot, no air con, no fan provided in the heatwave- windows do not open very far and seems to become sort of walkway around the ground floor windows. Standard walk-in shower. “Had a great stay here. Easy check in. Room was on the far side of the hotel so a few little stairs but that was fine. Room was as expected. A little dated but I've come to expect that. The swimming pool was great, good temperature. The sauna was also a lovely plus. There is a male one in the changing rooms and a female one in theirs respectively. The gym was very well equipped, I was impressed. Little play park for kids is situated near the car park, very nice and well maintained. Didn't have……

“We had a great stay at this historic hotel. Check in/check out was smooth. Great breakfast selection with hearty portion. Room is clean and bed is just the right firmness that you can wake up rejuvenated without backache. We also like how they stock plenty of welcome drinks and snacks in room to give us coziness to wind down in the cool weather.”

“Hotel is a little dated but room and bathroom were very clean. Fan was provided so temperature was comfortable. Room spacious and will be great if you have dogs. Bed relatively comfortable. Minor gripe is that the shower gel was very watered down so no use really. Other than that it’s a good budget option for this location and I would definitely stay there again.”
